THE MEANING OF FLOWERS
THE MEANING OF FLOWERS
From the origin of the name of a flower to its distinctive features and rich mythology, all flowers are enriched with symbolism and meaning. The Japanese named the association of certain flowers with different meanings "Hanakotoba". The flower language was created during the Victorian era with the notion that through the symbolism of the flowers people can express their true feelings. The same is true today.
For example, flowers may signify single-word responses such as "yes" or "no" depending on how they are given. If they are delivered with the right hand after a question then they mean "yes". However, if the left hand is used, the answer is "no".
